Night Vision by Dominique Morisseau
Directed by Dalissa Duran and Amisha Datta
Performed on April 14, 2018
In this 10 minute one-act by Dominique Morisseau, Ezra and his pregnant wife Ayanna witness a woman getting beaten on the street by a man in a hooded sweatshirt. After they diffuse the situation, they return to their apartment to call the police, however, when they discover how their accounts of the attacker differ, both are left questioning the truth of what they saw.
Kathakali Theatre Workshop
Conducted by Amisha Datta on March 16, 2018
The Kathakali workshop focused on mudras, or the gestural language, as a new area of the body to focus on in theatre. Participants of the workshops learned about the history of Kathakali in India, learned about mudras, and then used a quote to devise a short performance centering mudras. This worked to decolonize many of the things we learn on campus, and widen our perspective as theatre makers.
UTC Showcase: Fall 2017
November 2017
